| What are your
goals - personally or professionally? Are you clear about what you
want to achieve with your life or in your job? What is next for
you?
Where
are you now? Where do you want to be? How are you going to get there?
Do
you want to change? Do you really want to change? How much do you
want to change?
Whatever
your current situation, it is always a good idea to "take stock"
of where you are and review where you are going.
This
is true if you are in a job, in between jobs or just starting out
on your career. As an individual, it is easy to drift and bounce
along, waiting for something to come along. We are often trapped
in what has been called a "velvet rut" that is so comfortable
that the thought of changing our situation just sounds like too
much effort. Now if you are in a role or job that you really enjoy
and it allows you to be doing what you do best for most of the time,
enabling you to fulfill your potential and achieve things that are
important to you - then you can be reasonablly content, but not
complacent. However, for most of us (some surveys say 70%) we are
not happy with our job, we would change what we do if we could and
we are simply putting up with a less than satisfactory situation.
This web-site is for people like you. People who realise that they
want to do something about it but are not sure where or how to start.
Please use the self-check audit as a way to see what you may need
to be focusing on. You don't have to change your job, it may just
be that you start to take a more proactive attitude to your work
and personal development, so that you can begin to see yourself
moving in some direction, that is "progress" for you.
Please
look at the workshops and courses that I am running and contact
me for more information or to book a place! More details in the
"Contact Us" section.
I hope
you find this web-site helpful and please contact me if you need
something more specific to you, whether you are an individual or
in an organisational role where you have responsibility for the
development of others. This site is still under construction so
any feedback would also be very useful to me. Thanks a lot for visiting
and take this opportunity to decide to do whatever is
necessary to make it happen for you!
Best
wishes from Derek Osborn
